Surface Sampling
Surface Sampling
Surface sampling is used when visible growth or suspected mold is found on a surface. This type of testing helps identify exactly what type of mold is present and whether the substance is actually mold or another material such as dirt or staining.
Samples are collected using tape lift or swab methods and sent to an independent laboratory for analysis. The lab identifies the mold type and provides information about spore structures and concentration on the sampled surface.
Surface sampling is often used during real estate transactions, tenant complaints, or when homeowners want confirmation before remediation. The results help determine whether professional remediation is necessary and what level of cleanup may be required.
