Frequently asked questions
General
A mold inspection is a visual and moisture inspection of a property to look for signs of mold growth, water damage, and moisture intrusion. During the inspection, we check areas such as basements, attics, crawlspaces, HVAC systems, bathrooms, kitchens, and any areas where water damage may have occurred. If necessary, air or surface samples may be collected to confirm the presence of mold.
You may need mold testing if:
• You smell a musty odor
• You see visible mold growth
• You had a recent water leak or flood
• You are buying or selling a home
• You are experiencing unexplained allergy symptoms indoors
• A tenant or occupant is complaining about air quality
• You need documentation for remediation or insurance
Testing helps determine if mold spores are elevated and whether there may be hidden mold.
Air quality testing involves collecting air samples inside a home or building and comparing them to outdoor air samples. The samples are analyzed by an independent laboratory to determine mold spore levels and types. This helps determine if indoor air conditions are normal or if there is a mold problem inside the property.
